►Will I be able to carve quality candles by the end of my course?

We have trained more than two hundred people in the art of carving candles. Our staff are highly qualified and experienced. We are completely sure that you will be able to carve the very same candles for which Arte Vela is famous. You will receive  a certificate  accrediting you as being a qualified candle carver which may be exposed in your store.

►Can more than one person attend the course?

Yes, the fee for each additional person who attends the course depends upon the individual circumstances and necessities of the client. For example the larger the business plan selected the less you pay. In the case of the Bronze Plan the fee is 3000€.

►When is the next training course?

The training courses are continuous starting in October and finishing at the end of June. However an early reservation is recommended in order to guarantee your place

►Can I purchase finished candles  necessary to open my store?

The business plans do not include finished candles. However once you are trained you will be able to make your own initial stock  within a short period of time. You may also keep the best candles carved during your training for this purpose at cost price. We will if required and subject to commitments sell a range of finished candles to assist you with the opening of your shop.

►What aspects should I consider when looking for a retail shop?

The store should be well sited with good foot traffic preferably tourist orientated. The store should be an absolute minimum of 30 square meters (the bigger the better) with a wide and highly visible shop front in order to allow the candle carving show. It is very useful to have a storage area. Sometimes the shop size and shape may not be ideal but if the position is very good then that really is the most important factor. A busy pedestrian street  is also ideal. Try to avoid shops which have steps at the entrance. The three golden rules are:
1. Position  2. Position and 3. Position.

►Can you help me with the shopfitting?

We have a great deal of experience in the opening of retail stores and can assist you from beginning to end. We can organize a  builders project of your store tailor made for the Arte Vela  business. This Project can then be presented to your local tradesmen for execution. We can also supply and fit the furniture such as expositors, shelves,counters, signs, etc. Logically the project and any other services supplied are optional and at additional cost.You may of course organize design and shop fit yourself.

►What is the wax machine?

The wax machine is an indispensable and fundamental part of your business.You will need the machine to manufacture your candles. The machine will work 24 hours a day and is therefore made of very high quality stainless steel. It has 21 bins and a digital thermostat with double heating elements of 1500 watts each. The machine is equipped with a special silicone wiring capable of withstanding temperatures in excess of 2000 degrees. You will need an electrical socket capable of supplying 3000 watts which will be required when the machine is first switched on. Once the machine has reached its optimum temperature then it consumes little electricity due to the all round insulation which prevents heat loss. Arte Vela  supplies the machines to their clients at cost.

►Do I need water in my store? 

It is highly recommendable. Cold water will be required close to the wax machine in order to cool the layers of wax during the making of your candle. Where possible a tap and waste flow should be installed adjacent to the machine.

Contractual Questions

►What is the area of exclusivity? 

It is a clearly defined geographical area in which we undertake not to sell any of our products to other persons who may make competition. The area is formally recognised by the signing of a contract of exclusivity. The client also undertakes to respect the exclusive area of other clients. The area is normally considered to be the immediate local area where the shop is situated. Should a client wish to increase the area of exclusivity is open to negotiation.

►Can I sell my candles outside of my area of exclusivity? 

Yes, subject to certain criteria being met. The said sales must not infringe in any way the area of exclusivity of other  Arte Vela clients. In the event that the sales infringe a future clients rights then the sales must be stopped. All sales made outside of the area of exclusivity must be notified to head office in writing.

►Will you sell me finished candles for re-sale? 

No. We do not sell our hand carved candles wholesale.

►Can I reserve my area without having a store?      

Yes. You may reserve an area by placing a financial deposit towards a selected business plan.This deposit will reserve your area for up to six months and will be discounted from your final invoice. If after the agreed time you have not acquired your business plan then the reserved area and monies deposited will be lost.

►What is the form of payment for my business plan? 

Payment for your selected business plan including  I.V.A  (where applicable) must be paid for in full before or at the start of your training course. On receipt of payment your goods will be made ready for collection or dispatch. All transport costs will paid by the client.

►What is the form of payment in relation to my wax machine? 

Each wax machine is made to order and normally takes one month to manufacture. We will require a 50% deposit with order and the balance paid prior to despatch. All transport costs will be paid by the client.
